The Young And The Restless
We can all witness that fast fashion is thought to be one of the worst-polluting industries in the world, falling among the ranks of oil and coal. Fast fashion produces clothes made mostly from “polyester” fibers. A great majority of polyester on the market is of very poor quality and it is used by manufacturers because it is a cheap alternative to natural fibers. The production of polyester uses harmful chemicals, including carcinogens, and these chemicals are released into water when these fibers are washed, causing significant environmental damage.
Large corporations are supplying most retail stores with products made from these inferior and earth-damaging fabrics all in the name of profit.
